Norris Point
Norris Point is located on Bonne Bay in Gros Morne National Park
This 3.2 million dollar Norris Point Marine Station facility is world class .It was built in 2002 ..The station offers biologists,ocean graphers and other scientists a facility for marine ecosystem research.The station is operated by Memorial University and is open to the public.
Visitors can get their hands wet among stars, hermit crabs and other critters.
Bonne Bay has a Fjord basin,salmon esturies ,artic kelp beds and a salt march.It is ideal for academic research.The fjords of Bonne Bay plunge to more than 200 meters .It was formed by plate tetronics and glaciation.
Flow through sea water systems are fed by intakes from depths 10 and 75 meters.
